Hi, I’m Chris — the face behind Chris Lucas Designs.
Chris Lucas Designs was created from a love of sewing, bag making, and helping others feel confident in what they create. What started as my own passion for designing and making bags has grown into a full bag maker’s world — one where creativity, quality materials, and a supportive community come together.
At Chris Lucas Designs, you’ll find a carefully chosen range of bag making and sewing supplies, including handbag hardware, zippers, zipper pulls, vinyl faux leather, waterproof canvas, webbing, interfacing, sewing thread, tools and notions — all selected by me, a bag maker, for bag makers.
Every product in my shop is something I personally use, test, or genuinely believe in. I don’t just sell supplies — I think about how they’ll feel in your hands, how they’ll sew on a domestic or industrial machine, and how they’ll help bring your ideas to life.

I know what it’s like to be halfway through a project and realise you don’t quite have the right hardware, or your zipper isn’t gliding the way it should, or your material isn’t quite giving you the finish you imagined.
That’s why my focus is always on:

My goal is for Chris Lucas Designs to feel like a bag maker’s department store — easy to navigate, inspiring to browse, and full of things you didn’t even know you needed (but suddenly can’t live without).
More than just an online shop
As Chris Lucas Designs continues to grow, I’m so excited to welcome more bag makers into our world — both online and in store at our new head office and showroom in Loganholme, QLD, opened in February 2026.
The new space allows me to:

Having my own shop and studio has been a dream for a long time — and now it’s finally a reality.
