How to Install the Die Set
- Screw the metal top hole cutting die into the upper section of the KAM DK93 Hand Press.
- Place the hardened plastic flat base die into the base of the press.
- Position your material over the flat base die.
- Lower the handle firmly to cut the hole.

My favourite way to achieve a clean, crisp hole:
Place a small scrap of material directly on top of the hole cutting die, then position the project material you need to cut on top of the scrap. The scrap acts as an additional cutting layer and helps the die cut completely through every layer of your project material. This reduces loose fabric fibres, odd thread strands and areas that have not cut all the way through. It can also help reduce the risk of damaging or blunting the cutting die by providing a sacrificial layer beneath your project material.
This simple technique only takes a few seconds and helps produce a beautifully clean hole every time.
Another helpful tip is to test the hole size:
When installing small hardware, start by testing the hole size on an off cut of the same material. Different vinyl faux leathers, leathers and stabilised fabrics can vary slightly in thickness and density, and taking a few seconds to test first can help ensure your finished project looks its best.
