Keep a spare cutting surface on hand or replace a worn lower base die with this 45mm Plastic Flat Base Bottom Die, designed for the KAM DK93 Hand Press.
This is a single lower die, not a die set. The flat hardened plastic surface sits beneath your material and works with compatible upper cutting dies installed in the press. Its larger 45mm working surface provides a broader area beneath your project when you would like more support around the cutting position.

45mm or 25mm Flat Base Die?
The 45mm base is the larger option and provides a broader flat support surface around the cutting position. It can be particularly useful when working with larger project pieces or when you simply prefer more base area beneath the material.
For a smaller, compact everyday option, the 25mm Plastic Flat Base Bottom Die is also available separately.
Whichever size you use, always check that your chosen upper die, material and lower base are correctly aligned before applying pressure.
How to Install and Use the Base Die
- Remove the existing lower die from your KAM DK93 Hand Press.
- Place the 19mm lower shank of the flat base die into the base opening of the press.
- Check that the die is seated securely and the flat surface is level.
- Install your compatible upper cutting die.
- Test the setup on an offcut made from the same material and number of layers as your project.
- Position your project material over the flat base and apply firm, controlled pressure with the press.
Always make sure the upper cutting die meets the plastic working surface squarely and does not contact the metal body of the press.
Helpful Tip from Chris
Marks on a plastic base die are normal because it is the working surface beneath the cutting die. Rotate the base from time to time so repeated cuts are not always made in exactly the same spot.
If the surface becomes deeply cut, uneven or no longer supports your material consistently, replacing the base can help keep your hole cutting setup working well.
As with any new die combination, test on an offcut first before cutting your finished bag piece.
