D Rings 25mm Gold for Bag Strap Attachment Points
These Gold D Rings provide attachment points for detachable straps on crossbody bags, shoulder bags and totes. Secure each ring in a strap tab on the bag, then attach the strap using compatible Swivel Clips.
How the D Shape Works
The straight side of the ring sits inside a folded tab, while the curved section remains exposed for the clip. This keeps the ring positioned at the end of the tab and gives the clip space to move.
The 25mm (1″) size refers to the inside opening width along the straight side of the ring, where a 25mm finished strap or tab fits. Use Swivel Clips 25mm Gold and check that the clip gate closes fully around the ring. Matching strap sizes alone do not confirm the gate clearance of every clip style.
Make and Attach the Tabs
- Prepare a 25mm finished-width tab using the material and reinforcement specified by your pattern.
- Thread the tab through the ring and fold it around the straight side.
- Position and secure the tab to the bag using your pattern’s seam allowance, overlap and fastening method.
- Check that the tab holds securely, the curved section remains accessible and the Swivel Clip attaches freely.
Tabs can be made from 25mm webbing, fabric or vinyl faux leather. Reinforce the bag attachment area as required by the pattern; the ring, tab, stitching and surrounding bag material all contribute to the finished attachment.

Check both tab positions with the strap clipped on before permanently securing them. This helps you confirm the strap sits in the right direction and the clips can move without catching on the bag edge.
