Description
Hemline Fusible Soft Wadding Iron On 100% Polyester 90cm Wide
Add soft padding, warmth and gentle dimension to your sewing, quilting and creative projects with Hemline Fusible Soft Wadding.
Made from 100% polyester, this 135gsm soft iron on wadding is designed for light to medium weight fabrics including cottons and synthetics. The fusible surface allows the wadding to bond directly to suitable fabric, helping keep your layers together while you sew or quilt.
At 90cm wide, it is a versatile option for quilted bag panels, zipper pouches, patchwork, garments and other projects where you want soft padding and added body.
Why Choose Fusible Soft Wadding?
Unlike sew in wadding, fusible wadding can be bonded to your fabric before sewing. This helps reduce movement between the layers and can make quilting and topstitching easier, particularly on smaller bag panels and sewing projects.
Hemline recommends applying this wadding with a moderate to hot iron, pressing firmly for approximately 15 seconds. Always check that your project fabric can safely tolerate the required heat and test on a scrap first.
Perfect for Sewing, Quilting & Bag Making
The soft 135gsm construction adds padding and warmth without the bulk of a high loft wadding, making it useful for projects where you want a softly padded finish while still keeping the fabric manageable at the sewing machine.
It is suitable for light to medium weight fabrics such as cottons and synthetics, making it a great companion for quilting cotton and many creative sewing projects.

How to Apply
Position the fusible side of the wadding against the wrong side of your fabric. Hemline recommends using a moderate to hot iron and pressing firmly for approximately 15 seconds.
Work section by section rather than sliding the iron across the fabric, and allow the fused layers to cool before handling or sewing. Always test the wadding on a scrap of your project’s fabric first and follow the heat limitations of your chosen fabric.
Hemline recommends after fixing (fusing), lay the pieces down flat to cool down for around 30 minutes to allow the bond to stabilise.
Helpful Tip from Chris
When trying a new wadding or interfacing, I always recommend testing it on a scrap of the same fabric you’re using for your project first. This lets you check the finished feel, loft and bond before committing to your project.
When sewing quilting weight fabric with wadding, I generally start with a stitch length of around 3 and a size 90/14 needle, such as the Schmetz Microtex Sewing Machine Needles Size 90 / 14. My favourite thread for this type of sewing is Threadsation™ Bag Makers Sewing Thread.
Your ideal needle and stitch length can vary depending on your fabric, thread and number of layers, so a quick test sample is always worthwhile.
