How to Use a Plastic Strap Slider

1. Anchor the fixed end: Secure one end of your 25mm strap or webbing to your bag, D Ring or fixed attachment point as directed by your pattern.
2. Make the first pass: Bring the loose end from the underside up through the first opening of the Strap Slider.
3. Cross the centre bar: Take the strap over the fixed centre bar, keeping it flat and untwisted.
4. Make the second pass: Feed the strap down through the second opening to the underside of the slider.
5. Add the end hardware: Thread the loose end through your Swivel Clip or other attachment point.
6. Lock the strap back through the slider: Return the loose end to the Strap Slider and weave it back through the openings and around the centre bar so the strap overlaps its first pass and forms a secure friction lock.

Adjust the strap to the required length, then finish or secure the loose end using the construction method recommended by your pattern.

For smooth adjustment, make sure the finished strap is the correct 25mm width, sits flat through every opening and is not too thick for the slider.

Helpful Tip from Chris

Choose a hardware colour that picks up one of the colours within your fabric print for a coordinated finish. For something more playful, select a contrasting colour and make the hardware part of the design.

Test a short piece of your chosen strap through the slider before construction. It should move when adjusted but hold securely once the strap is in position.
