Description
Sure Fuse Medium Cotton Woven Fusible Interfacing 125gsm 3 Metre Pack
This convenient 3 metre pre-cut pack contains the same Sure Fuse Medium woven fusible interfacing that has become a favourite among bag makers and sewing enthusiasts.
Made from 100% cotton woven fabric, Sure Fuse Medium adds support, body and structure while still maintaining a softer, more flexible feel than heavier stabilisers.
At 125gsm, it is heavier than G700 and SF101 interfacing, making it ideal when you want additional support and durability without creating an overly stiff finished result.
The gallery images in this listing show examples of how Sure Fuse Medium performs when fused to quilting cotton fabrics and the structure it can achieve in finished bags.
Why Choose the 3 Metre Pack?
The 3 metre pre-cut pack is perfect for makers who regularly use Sure Fuse Medium and want the convenience of having extra interfacing ready to go for future projects.
- Great value compared to purchasing multiple smaller cuts
- Perfect for making multiple bags and accessories
- Convenient pre-cut length ready to use
- Ideal for classes, workshops and larger projects
- Less time spent reordering supplies
Perfect for Bag Making Projects
Sure Fuse Medium is lovely to work with when making:
- Handbags and totes
- Crossbody bags
- Bag linings
- Zipper pouches
- Wallets and purses
- Structured quilting cotton bags
- Home décor sewing projects
Because it is woven, it handles and presses more naturally than many non-woven interfacings while still adding the support and body needed for beautifully structured bags.
How to Apply Sure Fuse Woven Fusible Interfacing
Sure Fuse Medium is easy to apply and creates a strong bond when pressed correctly.
As a professional bag maker, this is the same interfacing I personally use in many of my own projects.
Using a Heat Press
I recommend using a cotton heat setting (approximately 180°C) and pressing for around 15 seconds.
Using an Iron
Use a cotton heat setting and press each section for approximately 15 seconds to allow the adhesive to properly bond to the fabric.
TIP: Press and hold the iron in place rather than moving it around like traditional ironing.
Pressing means lifting the iron, placing it onto the section being fused, holding it in place for approximately 15 seconds, then lifting and moving to the next section.
Important Testing Recommendation
Always do a test press using a scrap piece of the fabric or material you plan to use before applying interfacing to your final project.
This allows you to test the heat and pressing time to achieve the best possible results for your chosen fabric.
Applying to Vinyl Faux Leather and Specialty Fabrics
When applying interfacing to vinyl faux leather, leather or specialty fabrics, place the material with the wrong side facing up and position the interfacing adhesive side down on top.
This allows the heat source to be closest to the interfacing adhesive, helping it fuse more effectively and evenly.
