How to Position Thermal Fleece
For best results, place the silver (metallic) side of the thermal fleece facing the temperature source you want to control.
In bag making, this means positioning the reflective side so it helps retain heat or cold inside your project. For example, when making insulated lunch bags or bottle carriers, the metallic layer should be facing towards the inside of the bag to help maintain temperature.
For projects like oven mitts and pot holders, the metallic side is placed facing outward towards the heat source, helping reflect heat away during use.
Tip: You can also layer thermal fleece with cotton batting to add extra thickness and comfort, especially for projects where additional padding is beneficial.
